Uau, escrevi um e-mail no site da Deborah J. Ross, parabenizando-a pelas continuações da série Darkover e pedi para que ela escreva alguma coisa sobre o destino da Magda e da Camilla. E ela me respondeu, vejam:

Hello, and thank you for writing to me! I am so pleased that you enjoy the Darkover novels I have written. It's a joy and an honor to continue the series.
I just turned in the manuscript for The Children of Kings, an action-adventure story that takes place mostly in the Dry Towns, just a couple of years after The Alton Gift. I want to do at least one more "modern" Darkover novel in which the Federation returns to Darkover, but will need to wait for another contract from the MZB Literary Works Trust before I begin that.
About Magda and Camilla, I have been moving away from writing about Marion's characters, except as minor presences for continuity. In The Alton Gift, I needed to wrap up a bunch of threads from Traitor's Sun (which was not written by Marion, by the way), but the characters that were most alive were ones I developed for myself. Hastur Lord was unique in that Marion herself had begun it. Otherwise, I don't think I would have dared to portray Regis Hastur, her favorite character. Linnea Storn-Lanart appears in The Children of Kings, but she's much older, so in a way she's a different character.

Retomei o manuscrito de Children of Kings, uma história de aventura e ação, ambientada principalmente nas Cidades Secas, apenas alguns anos após The Alton Gift. Quero fazer pelo menos mais um romance "moderno" de Darkover, na qual a Federação retorna a Darkover, mas será necessário esperar por outro contrato com a MZB Literary Works and Trust (direitos autorais da Marion?), antes de começar isso.

Sobre Magda e Camilla, tenho evitado escrever sobre os personagens da Marion, a não ser por presenças mínimas por questões de continuidade. Em The Alton Gift, precisei "remendar" várias linhas soltas deixadas em The traitor's Sun ( que não foi escrito pela Marion, a propósito), mas os personagens que estavam mais vivos foram os que eu mesma desenvolvi. Hastur Lord é único pois foi a própria Marion quem começou.
Além disso, eu não me atreveria a retratar Regis Hastur, o personagem favorito dela. Linnea Storn-Lannart aparece em The Children of Kings, mas ela está muito velha, então de certa forma é outro personagem.
